Arunachal Pradesh: Kepor Mara, a resident of Mara village in Arunachal Pradesh and an alumnus of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), has begun a 48-hour parallel hunger strike in solidarity with education reformer Sonam Wangchuk.

Holding his protest from a remote area of Arunachal Pradesh, Mara said his fast is a peaceful expression of support for Wangchuk’s movement and the future of education in India.

Mara completed his M.Phil. from JNU and later enrolled for a Ph.D. While pursuing his doctoral studies, he secured a government job and is currently serving in Arunachal Pradesh. He said that, as an academic and concerned citizen, he believes the issues raised by Sonam Wangchuk deserve national attention.

Through his 48-hour hunger strike, Mara hopes his message reaches Sonam Wangchuk, emphasizing that scholars, intellectuals, and citizens from different parts of the country stand in solidarity with his peaceful campaign for educational reforms and the welfare of future generations.
