Paris, July 7: The R|Elan™ Circular Design Challenge (CDC), a global initiative promoting sustainable and circular fashion, has announced Yoshita 1967, founded by Anil Padia, as the European Finalist for the 2026 edition following the European Jury held in Paris.
The jury convened at Le Meurice on the eve of Paris Haute Couture Week, bringing together leading figures from the fashion, sustainability and creative industries. Six emerging designers from across Europe showcased innovative approaches to circular fashion, responsible design and material innovation.
Yoshita 1967 was recognised for its people-first approach to circularity, combining artisan-led production, handmade techniques and cross-cultural collaboration across Paris, Nairobi and Delhi to preserve traditional craftsmanship while creating social impact.
The event forms part of the India–France Year of Innovation 2026 and is organised by R|Elan™ in collaboration with the United Nations in India and Lakmé Fashion Week.
Following the European Jury, the challenge will continue with regional juries in the United Kingdom, Asia-Pacific and India before culminating in the Grand Jury at the United Nations Headquarters in New Delhi. The winner and runner-up of the R|Elan™ Circular Design Challenge 2026 will be announced during Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI in October.
