July 8: The Eastern Nagaland People’s Organisation (ENPO) has deferred its proposed public rally scheduled for July 10 following requests from the Nagaland Government, the Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, and the ENLU Convenor.

In a statement, the ENPO said it has taken note of the State Government’s July 6 announcement regarding the proposed Special Assembly Session on the Frontier Nagaland Territory (FNTA), welcoming the government’s decision to address the long-pending issue.

The organisation, however, clarified that the rally has only been deferred and not called off. It further announced that its Central Executive Council will meet on August 6 to decide the next course of action regarding the FNTA issue.
