Tseminyu | October 21, 2025: The Five Tribes Committee on Review of Reservation Policy has announced the withdrawal of its boycott of all state government events following the state cabinet’s decision to accept its key demands.

The decision was made after a meeting held yesterday at Tseminyu District, which was attended by representatives of the five apex tribe bodies — Ao, Angami, Lotha, Rengma, and Sumi — along with their respective frontal organizations.

In a press release, the committee stated that the meeting appreciated the cabinet’s positive response to its representation, particularly the agreement to rename the Job Reservation Commission as the Commission for Review of Reservation and to expand its Terms of Reference beyond employment-related matters.

The development marks a significant step forward in addressing the long-standing concerns raised by the five tribes regarding fairness and inclusivity in the state’s reservation system.
