Dimapur | October 19, 2025: Ahead of the upcoming festive season, the Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, has issued an advisory urging the public to celebrate responsibly and adhere to firecracker regulations within the district.

According to the advisory, bursting of firecrackers will be permitted only between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM on Diwali and similar festivals, and from 11:55 PM to 12:30 AM on Christmas and New Year’s Eves.

The notice further emphasized that only Reduced Emission or Green Crackers are allowed and must be sold exclusively through licensed traders.

Additionally, bursting firecrackers within 100 meters of silence zones—including hospitals, schools, courts, and religious places—is strictly prohibited. The use of firecrackers that exceed permissible noise limits will also be banned.

The Commissioner urged citizens to celebrate festivals in a safe and eco-friendly manner, ensuring that the joy of the season does not come at the cost of public health or the environment.
