The 20th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme was disbursed to farmers across Nagaland on Friday, bringing substantial relief and support to the agricultural community.
Advisor for Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan, attended the nationwide launch from Naga United Village, Chümoukedima. The state-level program was organized in collaboration with ICAR Research Complex, Jharnapani.
Taking to social media, Yanthan shared that over 2.38 lakh farmers in Nagaland have benefitted from the PM-KISAN scheme so far. In total, the state has received more than ₹680 crore under the initiative. With the release of the 20th installment, an additional ₹40 crore was directly transferred to the accounts of registered farmers across Nagaland.
Mr. Yanthan highlighted the scheme’s impact in ensuring financial support to farmers, especially small and marginal ones, for meeting agricultural and household needs.
The PM-KISAN scheme provides eligible farmers with ₹6,000 per year in three equal installments, credited directly into their bank accounts.
