Kohima, 22nd October 2025: Chief Minister of Nagaland, Neiphiu Rio, has emphasized the government’s commitment to promoting football in the state, highlighting the success of the Nagaland Super League 2024.

Speaking at the inaugural program of the 9th Edition of the Captain N. Kenguruse Memorial Football Tournament at Indira Gandhi Stadium, Kohima, Mr. Rio stated that the state government plans to develop astro-turf grounds in all districts. The initiative aims to strengthen sports infrastructure and provide better facilities for aspiring footballers across Nagaland.
