Kohima, Aug 11: Mon District Football Association (MDFA) booked their place in the semi-finals of the 24th Inter-District Football Championship 2025 (Dr. T. Ao Trophy) with a commanding 3–1 win over Dimapur District Football Association (DDFA) in the quarter-final clash.
Amun put Mon ahead in the 28th minute with a well-taken opener. The lead was doubled in the 73rd minute, putting Dimapur under pressure. Dimapur’s Imkongnungsang pulled one back in the 78th minute to spark hopes of a comeback, but Mon’s Manyem sealed the contest just three minutes later with a decisive strike in the 81st minute.
With the victory, Mon advances to the semi-finals, keeping alive their bid for the prestigious Dr. T. Ao Trophy, while Dimapur’s campaign comes to a close.
