Wokha, October 22: The 1st Nagaland State Banana Festival was held in Wokha, marking a historic moment for the state’s farmers, entrepreneurs, and agricultural institutions. Deputy Chief Minister Y. Patton shared his experience on X (formerly Twitter), saying it was “an honour to be a part of the festival — a proud moment for our farmers, entrepreneurs, and institutions working together to strengthen our rural economy and showcase Nagaland’s agricultural potential.”
The festival saw the presence of prominent dignitaries, including Shri TR Zeliang, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister, along with other ministers, advisors, and officials, whose participation added significance to the occasion.
Patton expressed his gratitude to all partners for their collaboration in making the festival a success. He highlighted Wokha’s fertile soil and hardworking communities, stating: “True progress begins in our villages. Let this festival be a movement towards prosperity, self-reliance, and pride in what we grow and produce.”
The event aimed to promote the banana industry in Nagaland, encourage entrepreneurship, and highlight the state’s potential in horticulture and allied sectors. It is expected to inspire similar initiatives across the region, fostering economic growth and sustainable development in rural areas.
