October 23, 2025: Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Planning & Transformation and National Highways, T.R. Zeliang, inspected the Old KMC Dumping Site restoration work today, accompanied by the Chief Engineer and officers from the National Highways (NPWD-NH).

In an update shared on his official X handle, Mr. Zeliang stated that the work is progressing rapidly, and expressed optimism that the route will be reopened to traffic very soon. He further noted that with the monsoon receding and favorable weather conditions, the project team anticipates minimal disruptions — a welcome change after the persistent rain-related challenges faced earlier.

The Deputy Chief Minister commended the efforts of the engineers and workers on-site and urged continued coordination and diligence to ensure the project’s timely completion.
