PDA Meeting Held in Kohima; NPF Officially Joins Alliance

Kohima, October 15, 2025: A meeting of the People’s Democratic Alliance (PDA) was convened today at the Chief Minister’s Residential Complex in Kohima, chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio.

The meeting was attended by key leaders from coalition partners, including Y. Patton, Deputy Chief Minister and Leader of the BJP Legislature Party; Benjamin Yepthomi, President of BJP Nagaland; Abu Metha, Secretary General, NDPP; Rusemtong Longkumer, Senior Vice President, NDPP; Achumbemo Kikon, MLA and Secretary General, NPF; and Apong Pongener, President, NPF.

After detailed deliberations, the house adopted several important resolutions unanimously:

  1. Appreciation to the Centre:
    The House expressed deep appreciation to the Government of India under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for its continued support and commitment towards the all-round development of Nagaland.
  2. Call for Peace Process Conclusion:
    The Alliance urged the Government of India and the negotiating parties involved in the Indo-Naga peace process to take sincere measures to bring the dialogue to its logical conclusion. It further emphasized that any settlement should be honourable, inclusive, and acceptable to the people.
  3. NPF Joins PDA as Full Partner:
    In a major political development, the PDA formally welcomed the Naga People’s Front (NPF) into the alliance and resolved to accept it as a full-fledged partner.
  4. Acknowledgment to BJP Central Leadership:
    The House also extended its appreciation to the central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for its guidance, support, and positive decision in endorsing the inclusion of NPF in the PDA.

The meeting marks a significant step in Nagaland’s political landscape, signaling greater unity among the state’s major regional and national parties ahead of future political developments.
