Niuland DC Issues Vigilance Directive Amid Ongoing Eviction Drive in Assam

Niuland, Nagaland – The Deputy Commissioner of Niuland, Smt. Sara S. Jamir, has issued an official order urging all villages in the district to remain vigilant and alert in light of the ongoing eviction drive in Assam targeting illegal immigrants. The directive, issued on July 21, 2025, comes in response to concerns over the potential influx of illegal immigrants into Nagaland due to the eviction operations being conducted across the border by the Assam government.

“All the villages in the Niuland District are hereby directed not to panic but remain vigilant and alert for influx of illegal immigrants in the district,” the order stated. The Deputy Commissioner has specifically instructed that any unusual movement or migration in their respective areas must be immediately reported to the District Administration.
