5th All Nagaland Dr. Imkongliba Ao Memorial Volleyball Trophy 2025 Kicks Off in Dimapur

Dimapur, Oct. 15: The 5th All Nagaland Dr. Imkongliba Ao Memorial Volleyball Trophy 2025 officially kicked off today at the DDSC Stadium, Dimapur. The three-day tournament will witness nine teams from across the state competing for the coveted title.

Gracing the inaugural ceremony as the chief guest, Dimapur Municipal Council Chairman Hukheto Yepthomi highlighted the importance of such sporting events in fostering harmony and resilience within society. “Events like this strengthen community bonds and stand as a beacon of hope during challenging times — promoting peace, unity, and progress,” he said.

In the opening match, MH-10 dominated their opponent, Street Boys Club, Pangti, with a straight-set victory of 25–7, 25–7.

The tournament, organized in memory of the late Dr. Imkongliba Ao — a revered figure in Nagaland’s history — continues to serve as a platform for youth engagement, sportsmanship, and the celebration of unity through sport.
